Country Representative Job Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our organization as a Country Representative. In this role, you will be responsible for representing our organization in a specific country or region, and overseeing all of our activities and operations in that area.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to promote our organization’s mission and objectives in the assigned country or region
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, partner organizations, and donors
  • Monitor and evaluate program activities to ensure they are aligned with organizational goals and objectives
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff members in the country office, and ensure the team is working together effectively
  • Manage the country office budget and financial resources, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies
  • Prepare regular reports and updates on program activities, outcomes, and challenges
  • Represent the organization at meetings, conferences, and other events, and advocate for our mission and work in the country or region
  • Stay informed about key social, political, and economic developments in the country or region, and assess their potential impact on our work
  • Collaborate with other country representatives and headquarters staff to share best practices, resources, and lessons learned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in international relations, development studies, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in international development, humanitarian aid, or related fields
  • Experience managing staff and program activities in a nonprofit or NGO setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluency in English and proficiency in one or more local languages spoken in the country or region
  • Knowledge of local customs, laws, and regulations, and experience navigating complex political and social environments
